AMCo donations to the International Health Partners Reaches £1m
AMCo's donations to the international charity, International Health Partners (IHP), has passed £1million. IHP donates medicines to people in need across the world.
AMCo's donations have been used to help people in the Middle East, Nepal, India and the Philippines. This includes immunisation programmes for children to prevent diseases like diphtheria, tuberculosis, polio and tetanus. AMCo's donations also helped survivors of the Nepal earthquake, with survival kits and refuges for children affected by the devastation.
AMCo also regularly supports the international charity, SOS Children's Villages, which provides homes and help for homeless and disadvantaged children where they can grow up in a safe, supportive and loving environment. The charity also provides medical centres for those who cannot afford healthcare and food for children and young people who are underweight or malnourished.
CEO John Beighton said: "We are always happy to support IHP and the incredible work it does in bringing medicines to people across the world. I'm pleased that our donations have now reached this level but, while there are still so many in need, we plan to keep giving. We know that these medicines make a real difference to people's lives."
AMCo is one of four firms shortlisted for the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative of the Year by IHP in recognition of its charitable work.
